Enerya Energy Carries Remembrance to Nature and Sustainability to the Future
With its “Respect for the Past, Breath for the Future” social responsibility project that brings remembrance together with nature, Enerya is adding a new dimension to the sustainability approach in the energy sector. The project focuses on uncertainties linked to climate change and the protection of natural assets.
Through its newly launched “Respect for the Past, Breath for the Future” project, Enerya Energy aims to keep alive the memory of its deceased subscribers with memorial forests, planting saplings across the country as part of the fight against erosion and the increase of forest assets.
Enerya Energy Inc. and the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) signed a cooperation protocol on 16 June 2026 for a memorial forest of 10 thousand saplings, in order to contribute to environmental sustainability, increase Türkiye’s forest assets and keep alive the memories of subscribers. Under the protocol, the “Enerya Energy Inc. Memorial Forest” will be established in Denizli, contributing to the protection of nature and the building of a sustainable future.
Operating under Ahlatcı Holding within the Ahlatcı Natural Gas Group, Enerya Energy combines its customer-focused service approach with a vision of social responsibility and sustainability, bringing the memorial forest to life under the theme “Respect for the Past, Breath for the Future.” As part of the project, during subscription transfer transactions carried out by the relatives of subscribers who passed away as of 1 June 2026, a sapling will be donated in the name of each deceased subscriber to keep their memory alive.
THE ENERYA-OGM COOPERATION STRENGTHENS A 5-YEAR NATURAL CAPITAL INVESTMENT
Under the 5-year Afforestation Cooperation Protocol signed by Enerya Energy with the General Directorate of Forestry, the sustainability approach is being carried to a broader and more strategic framework. In line with the protocol, a memorial forest of at least 10 thousand saplings is planned to be created in Denizli in the first phase. The cooperation also supports the creation of new forest areas and the reforestation of burned forest sites, contributing to the protection of natural assets and the strengthening of ecosystems.
FROM FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY TO ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
Ahlatcı Holding Gas Group President Kasım Kahraman made the following statement: “Thanks to this project, while the memory of our deceased subscribers is kept alive, each sapling planted with the goal of creating lasting value for future generations will become a breath for a new life. Honoring our past and safeguarding our future, with this memorial forest project we will keep alive the memories of the subscribers we have lost, while adding lasting value to nature through our cooperation with OGM. With this approach, our sustainability vision will be carried to a holistic structure along the axis of people, nature and the economy.”
EXPANDING ITS SOCIAL IMPACT MODEL WITH 2.4 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS
Enerya Energy Inc., one of Türkiye’s leading natural gas distribution companies, operating under Ahlatcı Holding and whose shares have been traded on Borsa Istanbul since August 2023, safely delivers clean-energy natural gas to more than 2.4 million subscribers in 10 cities with a strong transmission network of 25 thousand kilometers and over a thousand employees. Through the social responsibility projects it develops, the company aims to create lasting value not only in energy supply security but also in social solidarity, environmental sustainability and natural capital management.
THE AFFORESTATION AND PLANTING SCHEDULE BEGINS IN DENIZLI IN THE AUTUMN
In Denizli, 47% of whose surface area is covered with forests, planting works will begin as of November 2026 on a 15-hectare area located at the 4th kilometer of the Denizli-Uşak Highway, with the aim of renewing forest areas affected by fire, strengthening existing forests and helping prevent erosion. As part of the project, 10 thousand saplings are planned to meet the soil by 15 December 2026.
